It’s not about me!

Colossians 1:15-18 (MSG)

We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels—

got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body.

1 Corinthians 2:7 (AMP)

but we speak God’s wisdom in a mystery, the wisdom
once hidden [from man, but now revealed to us by God, that wisdom] which God predestined before the ages to our glory [to lift us into the glory of His presence].

It’s not about me!

Everything began with God. He created us in His image, and placed a purpose in each and every one of us. He thought of us as individuals and equipped us with what we needed for our time here on earth. We were born at the perfect time, perfect season, the perfect place and into the perfect family. At times we might have thought to ourselves what if I was born into that family etc. But the truth is that if we were to change anything about our existence then we would not be who we are today. We were made for such a time as this. Why is it that we have trouble fulfilling our purpose and feel like we don’t know where we are going. It is because we have yet to access the purpose God has placed in us, you can think of it as a map that God has placed in each of us. However, we can only access it through Him. This is because the things that come from God can only be accessed through God and a relationship with him. The purpose in our lives goes much further then a personal fulfillment or your own happiness. Our purpose is centered around him, we should look around and realize that there is a lot to do for His Kingdom. Our purpose starts and ends with God. The easiest way to discover or understand the purpose and meaning of an invention is to ask the creator of it. The same goes for us; just ask God, He will give us the revelation to our life’s purpose. Understanding our purpose in life starts with the revelation of who He is and more so who is God to me and what does He mean to my life.

Father, as I begin this journey, help me to realize that building my life around myself instead of you will only lead to emptiness and meaninglessness. I was made by you and for you, and I want to discover my purpose in you. Amen!
